1.      Due to the fact that the board meeting is the 15th and Columbus Day was the 12th, the board packet is being hand-delivered. Expect many hand-outs at the board meeting.

2.      Under “New Business” is closing December 26th. This is a Saturday. I do not expect enough business to even make it worthwhile to turn on the lights.

3.      We will be selling the East Alton Historical Calendars. More about this from Charlotte.

4.      The book club selection for October is: “Watchers” by Dean R. Koontz. A tale appropriate for the season.

5.      We are in receipt of a Replacement Tax check in the amount of $15,994.50.

6.      I would like to thank all who participated in decorating the library for Halloween.

7.      Darlene rearranged her work area. Andy provided the manpower and he repainted the walls in part of the work room.

8.      The Graphic Novel and Manga sections are now separate. Thank you Andy and Kevin for all the hard work.

9.      A new computer for Natalie has been ordered. It was 10 years old and on its last legs.

10.  I will be filing the tax levy documents next week at the county clerk’s office. They are not due until early December.

Family movie night for September had 15 in attendance.  Disney’s “Maleficent” was shown.  Again used the meeting room wall. The kids and adults seem to like the new “movie” room and always enjoy the refreshments.  Next month I will be showing an “oldie” Halloween movie—“Halloweentown”.  It should be very entertaining.  Serving Halloween treats should be fun.

Story time themes and coordinating crafts for September were apples, fall leaves, autumn, and Johnny Appleseed.  Some of the crafts were apple magnets, leaf necklaces, and Johnny Appleseed foam pictures and magnets.

SWAYS for September was held in Germantown.  I did not attend the meeting.  It was a little farther than I wanted to travel.  However, the meeting was a recap of the summer reading programs.  I will be hosting the SWAYS meeting next month.  Preparations are being made for this meeting.  Decorations are in place.  Next item on my list is to purchase the favors and food items.  The theme will cover make & take craft projects. I already have two projects ready to go.  There should be a lot of inspiring varieties.

The after school LEGO Club was rather small this time.  Only about 7 in attendance.   I’ve submitted flyers to Head Start and Eastwood Elementary.  Facebook and our web site should have our advertising covered.

            Motion: Funke           Second: Wiegand

Roll call vote: Funke, aye; Wiegand, aye; Richie, aye Hierman, aye; Bricker, aye; Silkwood, aye;. 6 ayes, no nays, 1 absent. Motion carried.

ADJOURNMENT             There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:18 pm.
