How do I...

Get a Library Card

Everyone is welcome to use the library, but if you want to take materials home you must get a library card. When children can print their name, they can apply for a library card. You may fill out an application at the front desk.

If you live within the district of East Alton, bring in:

  • A photo ID with your current address

  • If your ID does not have your current address, also bring an official piece of mail post-marked within 30 days, a tax bill for the most recent year, a voter’s registration card, or a passport

If you are under the age of 18, the presence of a parent or guardian is required, and these requirements apply only to them.
